Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform feasibility reports and conduct site assessments
- Research jurisdictional codes, standards, and minimum design requirements at project pre-development phase
- Review and analyze surveys, record drawings, and other documents that may impact site development
- Develop project design concepts
- Perform field observations of existing site conditions and identify all issues that may impact proposed development
- Coordinate project tasks with team members, consultants, and management
- Provide early and thorough feedback to architects and other engineers for development of site plan and resolution of major site issues
- Perform design calculations and reports
- Prepare Construction Documents, specifications, and cost estimates
- Coordinate project data and tasks with clients and other design professionals while managing projects to meet Client expectations and project scheduling
- Meet project deadlines
- Communicate schedule updates with project team, Clients, consultants, and management
- Generate written documentation of all communications that may impact project scope, schedule and budget
- Adhere to company data management system
- Assume personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of engineering design and documentation
- Supervise project-related work of other engineers and CAD designers assigned to the project
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience as Project Engineer for site development design, including site grading and drainage, site paving, site utilities, earthwork, storm pollution control and traffic control, all in conformance with regulatory requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registered P.E. in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire
- Strong computer knowledge, including: Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to work in a team environment
- Effective communication with Clients, team members, consultants and management
- Self-motivated and disciplined
- Strong problem-solving skills
